The Tree.
I sit upright by the big oak tree, the biggest in our little, green town park.
I watch as my thumbs twiddle. It's not long before my mind drifts elsewhere.
I tilt my head back, against the tree. Once my eyes open back up, they were greeted by the pleasant blue of the beautiful sky, some witness was present too, moving, sailing slowly across the atmosphere.
It's warm outside, said it was meant to rain the whole day today, I'm glad it didn't.
This tree would be my usual spot where I would sit down and go over all of my confusing thoughts before clearing my head out. This place is where I would usually write, draw, compose or give myself up to some music.
I would spend minutes, hours with friends or alone. The tree managed to close my off from the rest of the park, or as I like to call it, 'the real world'.
This tree was my way of stopping time. I forget about time.
I open my eyes back up, looking up at the treetops, the leaves. The green leaves.
Green... Green calms me down. Green makes me think of nature... Something so beautiful... Yet so fragile... Nature...
The wind picked up, cooling the surface of my warm skin. It was seconds before the wind calmed back down.
I decide I want to listen to something else, something...
