Chapter 1 The sole survivor
#story #fantasy #foryou
The night was quiet and so distraught with its faint glowing moon and twinkling stars.
It was a sight to behold as the buildings were engulfed in a fiery dome that complemented my raging desire to avenge my family.
I left in a hurry, craddling the bag that I got from my parents. It wasn't the time to cry nor look back at the city of Arlejhen.
It was the time to flee.
Through the woodlands I dashed, stumbling on the thick moving vines that held into my ankles. Squeezing it tightly--afraid to let go of its prey.
With the free hand I had, I started to scratch the cursed thing. In the process of getting myself out of its grasps, the bag fell out of my hands and crashed into the ground.
"Let go of me you swine!"
No matter how much I struggled, it was in vain. My hope to get out of this place was depleting at each passing second.
'If only Papa was here, he could have freed me easily.'
Without even noticing the warm liquid that trickled down my cheek. A cold blooded chill ran down my spine as the tree started to drag inside its body.
It's trunk opened in half and revealed the body of children who went missing after entering the woods.
When I regained my determination, everything around me became dark. Then, there was this light that started to glow feverently as I tried kicking off my feet from the creature.
The tree immediately recoiled its hands.
"Mother's necklace..."I muttered with a relieved smile.
Finding it odd, I clutched in my my hands, thanking my mother for giving me this necklace. There wasno time for rest as I grabbed the bag on the ground and continued to ran into the forest. Ignoring the watchful eyes and howls behind the trees.
The orange sunset, carassed my cheeks in a tender manner. It ws warm and addictinh than the cold breeze of the night that I had to experience.
In the horizon sat the most beautiful flowers that swayed to the wind's compass. It didn't take long before I arrived at the Village of Khan.
