I saw myself in your eyes that day.
The second we locked eyes, I felt it.
I know you did too.

That we’re falling apart.
That we’re both crumbling so quickly.
That we can’t bear each other’s weight anymore.
That we were just adding more onto each other’s back.

I realized it that day.

That we weren’t meant to be.
That I should have been better.
That we could have been better.

You noticed, didn’t you?
I hope that you didn’t.

Looking at you gave it away.
Of course you would notice.
How could I think that you wouldn’t?
You know me so well.

It’s what makes knowing that you actually don’t harder.
You don’t know me like I know myself.
I can’t show myself completely to you,
But God knows I want to.
You probably feel the same, right?

Of course you do, because I know you.
At least I did.
