A Trouble & Its Branches (1)
Some truths had better been hidden from us. When I realised that the school's number one problem is the guy I had been living with at home. I was beyond shocked!

Just imagine! I mean this guy is my younger brother and he's very calm and studious. We grew up together and he's never shown any sign of being wayward. Our parents would not even give room for any wrongdoing so I had to be shocked when I first heard it from his school mate who was a friend of mine. I was shocked for a while but I could not disbelieve it because despite trusting my brother, I also knew this friend of mine would never lie to me about such a matter.

"Why are you just telling me this?"

He was shaking with fear. "You think I ever want to tell you? He's been threatening me! I just can't keep it inside anymore. He and his cohorts are being watched. They'll soon be expelled!"

"What? How did you know that?"

"Everyone knows! They know but they don't care! They believe that some influential people are backing them but really these people are through with them. You see, one of your brother's cohorts died two days ago and his death still remains mysterious. Their thoughts is that an enemy killed him but I can tell you that it's these powerful people that killed him. And they just started with them. They'll wipe them out and start using another set of people."

I was nervous. My mind had become restive. "What can I do?"

"You have to tell your parents. Don't even try to talk to him. Just tell your parents. Maybe you'll find some guys to kidnap him and keep him somewhere till all is fine."

"What? Wh-what about his studies? He's already two years into this!"

"Studies? My seniors that were previously used by these powerful people were wiped out two years ago! They were in their last year!"

"Okay, I'll tell our parents when they return from work. Thank you, Steven."

"Please, do carry me along."

"Sure, I will. And please be careful."

"I will. Take care," Steven said and got to the front door. On opening it, he faced my brother.

I have never seen my brother with such a devilish grin before! I mean he's always been such an angel. How could an angel suddenly sprout horns from his temples?

Steven shuddered under his gaze.
