Lost Childhood 17
What bothered them both was that their father didn’t seem too concerned about their absence at dinner; he didn’t even come to their rooms to check on them. When they woke up the next morning he had already left for work, anything could have happened to them. Although he didn’t seem to care, the time they went to their rooms and the time they woke up the next day didn’t go unnoticed by Jacqueline. She was keeping detailed notes about the amount of medication she put in their food and how long they slept each time.

The time needed to be exact because they could not have them waking up during transport. They had to stay asleep for a least ten hours so they would be at their intended destination before they were conscious. It would have to happen soon so that no one would be suspicious of their absence. Jacqueline would make up some excuse about them being enrolled in a summer camp; by the end of the summer they would be so far away and she could blame it on the camp counselors.

Next week she would research some camps not too close to the house; it needed to be far enough away so that Alejandro Fernando Sanchez, Sr. could not go pick them up in three or four hours. No She would then disappear so that he could not find her or contact her. She call him in week or two, making up a story about taking care of a seriously ill relative. She would then never bother to contact him again after all it had really only been about the children.

The sex had been great but she was getting tired of the alcohol and the abuse was progressively getting worse with each episode. It was like walking on eggs shells when he was home. She had also convinced herself the she was doing the children a favor by giving them a better life. She was told they would be placed in an orphanage and adopted by a loving and caring family. At least they would have a chance at a better life than she had when she was growing up.
