In the vast darkness of space, two figures looked over the earth. The first was Evyn, a bright spirit that glowed faintly as if she were a distant star. The second was Elle, who appeared to be a dark ball of energy, black lightning bolts writhing within him and sucking the light out of his surroundings. Both were created out of ideas, which swirled within them and made up their very being.

They watched the over all the different creatures of Earth, each with their own defenses, such as claws, fangs, or scales, but they noticed that the humans had nothing to protect themselves with. Evyn saw how they huddled up in caves, cold and hungry, and, pitying them, she knew what she had to do.

“Elle, look. The humans need our help. Let’s gift them with something to help them keep up with the rest of nature.”

She came down to land, bringing Elle with her, and together they placed an idea into the minds of man. A small piece of light came away from the body of Evyn, and a thrashing fragment...
