Stories of Passion 3
I looked at her as she spoke, thinking how blessed I was to meet this girl on this stormy and otherwise uneventful night. I gazed into her eyes, grinning and scooting closer to her as the breeze got colder and the Chai in our cups ran low. I could have ordered another serving of the beverage, but I had something else on my mind.

‘Do you want to go on another adventure? Let's break something else!’ I asked her.
‘I'm up for it. You got me initiated.’
‘Have you ever dreamt of owning one of those mansions on the lakeshore?’
‘You bet I have. But I don't think I can in this current life.’
‘Well, you can't own one. But you can experience being in one!’ I felt excitement rush down my spine as I proposed this crazy idea to her.
‘What do you mean? Are we going to break in?’
‘You're smart! We will!’
‘You must be out of your mind. We will get arrested. Do you know how the rich folks secure their houses?’
‘Worth the risk if I get to spend the rest of the night with you. be it in jail or someone's backyard!’
‘Stop with these cheesy arguments! You're never going to convince me.’
‘Challenge accepted! Let's walk towards the lake, at least. It isn't raining anymore, and we still have to get home, right?’
‘Okay, that's convincing now.’ She smiled and offered her hand to me.
I pulled her up, and we walked towards the boulevard to the lakeshore road. A sparsely lit street laden with exquisite mansions that tempted us to do something crazy. I dragged my hand around her waist and whispered in her ear, ‘Do you still think we shouldn't attempt the crazy adventure? You wanted to break coffee machines. Let's break some monotony!’
I saw her smile and felt goosebumps on her skin. She turned to me and said, ‘Let's do it!’

We found an old abandoned house where the street turned. Someone had broken down the fence. Perhaps another adventurer like us. I grabbed her hand, and we ran into the front yard of this deserted house. It still looked in good condition, and I wanted to get in. ‘Let's try the windows. There must be a way in.’ I said excitedly and started fiddling with the windows to find a way in. After a bit of exploration, I struck gold and found an open window. I jumped in and helped her to get in, too. ‘We are finally home!’ I chuckled.
She laughed nervously and asked me, ‘Are you sure we are alone? I feel we have company.’

*Thud*
We heard a noise outside. It sounded like someone had jumped in the backyard.

Who was it? Are we alone in the house?
Let's find out in the next edition!
