Story: Karanimata Temple
Story: Karanimata Temple
A special wonder is the temple of Karani Mata, at a place called Deshnoke in Bikaner region of Rajasthan. The rat that we have known for so long as the vehicle of Ganesha Tagore is worshiped here as Lord.
Karani Mata is not only worshiped but has a large and magnificent temple. The temple is easily recognized as Rat Temple. Rats are scurrying inside the temple, outside it and in the huge square, inside the shop passages. Nice to see it as a rat sanctuary.
But the interesting thing is that I saw people sitting there meditating and doing meditation to fulfill their desires.
And it turns out that the temple has a human idol as Tagore, not a rat. One who has miraculous powers, the stories about which are stored in the guides and even on Wikipedia, it is not my intention to describe them.
However, before entering the temple, some shopkeepers sell chickpeas, raisins, etc., who are still deprived of the blessings of Karani Mata's miraculous powers. If you sell it, you will fill your stomach. However, I bought fried chickpeas thinking that I would feed the rats.
Now I had to take off my shoes to go to the temple, which seemed inevitable because the inside of the temple cannot be called clean in today's cleanliness mission era, because there are rats around eating chickpeas, milk etc. with other physiological activities. So what is called reek was there.
Meanwhile, the priests are worshiping for the devotees. Someone or a super devotee is sitting and meditating sincerely , not noticing that even some rats are running around touching his feet. Another thing is that I saw a lot of mice, but none of them seemed to be healthy, none of them had a shiny body. Among them, the one who sees a white colored mouse is lucky as per guide and local people . As usual I didn't see it either. But I was a little worried about their appearance and as far as I was concerned it was due to overeating as in many places food ( milk, chickpeas etc) was served in different pots by the devotees which was unnecessary. So I forbade my wife to spread chickpeas. She said that - I have brought them by name and will take them around? I say please come out- I will tell you . As soon as I put on my shoes and stepped towards the road, a lady with a Rajasthani veil reached out to me. I gave her 10 Rs and that packet of chickpeas considering her as 'mother Karani without any miraculous power' .
