Seeing God : The Son
“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
John 14:7‭-‬11 NKJV

As a child growing up, I've often wondered "what does God look like? " I have envisioned Him as an extremely muscular man at times because I know He's All Powerful. Other times, I imagined a man with long white hair and beard, sitting on a throne dispensing judgements because I know He's All Wise. There are also times where I just saw a hand, with the world spinning in the center of it. Over the years, that one has been modified where it's now the entire universe in His hand. Significant of his immense greatness.

These were all a child's musings and they are probably all correct to some degree. After all, we can't dictate to God how to reveal Himself to a child. However, God decided to show Himself in the person of Jesus Christ and He is absolutely breathtaking!!!!!

Through Jesus we see God's love, kindness, compassion, justice, forgiveness, benevolence, integrity, power, wisdom, authority and the list goes on. When He said, "he who has seen me hath seen the Father," He meant exactly that. Which now begs the question. Who do people see when they see us??

Jesus is still asking, " whom say ye that I am?" He doesn't necessarily mean 'say' as from our lips but 'say' according to how we live our lives. We are His image in the earth. His representatives. If we identify with Him by the confession of our lips, our lives need to be a picture story of Him.
