A ghost and toast
Once there was a white little ghost
His favourite breakfast was toast

One day he went out to get the mail
He did it every morning without fail

This crazy day he went to his box
And inside was a scared little fox

The ghost his name was Benjamin
He said to the fox, Hello, with a grin

The fox answered very shyly, h-h-hi
Benjamin replied, my mailbox but why?

The fox whose name is very known
Charlie responded with a low groan

I sleep here because my den is old
It leaks, it's falling apart, and is cold

Benjamin said to Charlie quite nicely
I'm going to have a bite if you're hungry

Charlie said yes I would love to join you
Benjamin then remarked, some coffee too?

Charlie then followed him into his house
Once inside his curiosity became aroused

What a lovely home you have Benjamin
I'm so thankful that you allowed me in

Benjamin went to get the bread to toast
He was always proud of being a good host

He served them each three pieces with butter
And a glass of milk that would solve their hunger

They talked vigorously for nearly three hours
Suddenly Benjamin thought of a wonderful offer

He said to Charlie, there's a hill out back here
Told him the hole in it may help him cheer

You may live there Charlie and with no fee
Charlie was ecstatic , overwhelmed with glee

Benjamin showed him his new cozy home
Charlie was happy which explained his tone

Benjamin invited Charlie over for toast still
They became good friends, they often chilled

Years have passed and they are still buddies
Sharing toast, enjoying each other's company
