The waitress has a story
She walkes about, balancing a tray on her arm, gracefully serving meals to hungry patronizers.
They wanted more than just food, from her.
They wanted food of her.
But she never gives them the time of the day.
They say make hay while the sun still shines.
She makes hay all the time.
In good weather and bad.
She's up at dawn, and works till dust.
Waiting on tables,cleaning tables,washing dishes.
Repeating her system of monotony.
She's up on her heels, only to get a messily pay,at the end of every day.
Yet,she still wears a smile, and asks you what you want.
Who ever asks the waitress what's her order?
Who would ever dare?
She watches families walk in and out, couples stroll in together, stroll out single.
She watches friends have fun,and fight.
All day long, being deprived of spending the time with her own family.
The waitress is an epitome of grace, diligence, patience, and endurance.
Yet,how many know the waitress once she tossed her uniform aside?
Is she a mother with not enough time to spend with her kids?
Is she a daughter paying her father's medical bills?
Is she a wife filling for a divorce?
Is she a sister who doesn't have enough?
Maybe the bills are stacked, and her health not intact.
We only know her as the lady with the tray.
