She was crying. He was trying to calm down but he knew that wasn't gonna help. She kept quiet for a moment holding the phone in hand. There was a long pause over the call. Neither of them spoke for minutes. She was continuously crying and he was silently listening her. After a long pause, she spoke, "I will talk to you later".
"Let me be here, i just wanted to be with you. Let me be here over phone with you" he requested.
When a heart was broken no words can heel the pain at that moment. He knew sometimes just mere presence is enough, where words fails to comfort silence does their magic.

After another long pause she said. Her crying was transformed into sobbing "It was so nice of you. I knew what you said earlier, was just a joke trying to cheer me up. Proposal was a nice attempt". She tried to smile as she completed her words but failed terribly. "Just wanted your smile back, nothing else my dear Boss" he said. Least of she knew the joke he made was this time.
