The basic problem in Mars that we were ignoring were deigned by our biologist. Based on his theories we were going on in right direction but our statistical data reflecting completely haywire. The fact is that through magnetic field we try to create two different viscous layers which helps to move slowly but steadily in various environment and various rocky fields.
