One Fine Day
#UnfoldCharacter
Life has a very funny way of turning out. In this commercial world we meet a lot of people randomly.
Is it karma or is it just another encounter we just don't know.
This little incident happened in my life when I was back in kindergarten school.
I was a very easy go lucky girl. Very friendly and playful.
So obviously I was the apple of the eye for everyone.
Those were the amazing days when life was genuinely simple.
Our vacations would be a visit to our grandparents home.
So on one such vacation I met a person named Prasad. He was one of our close relatives son.
He was just a few years older than me, I was very happy to meet him because in our native town ai had no company to play.
He was among the few people who knew our hometown like the back of his hand and also spoke English.
Prasad was a very caring person and he loved to play badminton with me.
He even taught me how to climb on to a tree. Once i tried climbing a tree by myself the branch broke and I could hear a roar of laughter. It was Prasad laughing his guts out looking at my plight.
I burst into tears and got angry with him and ran home. He followed me to my house. When he knocked at the door my mom answered the door. She saw the concerned look on his face and asked him, "What happened Prasad?" he said, maami I chinni was climbing the tree and the branch broke and she slipped down straight into the marshes I couldn't control my laughter and she ran away crying.
So mom said," it's ok Prasad don't worry she will be fine Let her calm down and she will come back to play in the evening."
I was overhearing this conversation. I was close to around 7 years back then and he was about 12 years old, in short a kid himself yet he was very worried about the fact that I crowd because of him.
Our hometown was more like an Island. It was surrounded by a river Shambavati river. During Summers the river would dry up and we would go swimming in the little pond.
That evening I didn't go out to play.
Next day morning my uncle said, come on children let's all go for swimming.
We all got very excited since we were not allowed to go swimming all by ourselves.
We all went, I just missed one minute detail there Icould not swim.
Yet we were very excited to go swimming with our uncle.
I was very scared of the water so I decided to sit on the rock near the little pond while others dived into the pond.
After sometime I saw Prasad from far. I was a bit too angry to speak to him right away. Today when I think of it I was one big spoilt brat back then. I wasn't even that badly hurt to make such a big deal out of it. Anyways I saw Prasad watching me from far.
My uncle called out to him , hey Prasad come join us don't be such a spoilt sport. Prasad to joined them I was even more angry so I got up from my place and in an attempt to get down from the rock I stood up and lost my balance and there I fell straight into the deep water.
I could even hear the loud thud sound.
I am sure the thud sound was loud enough to alarm the others.
I was deep down in the water it was dark inside and I didn't know what to do. I was gasping for breath and scared to hell.
That was when I saw two hands come to pick me up.
It was my Uncle and Prasad they heard the loud sound and saw that I was missing so they figured I was drowning.
They had acted fast so there was no huge filmy style commotion as such. Although I was thoroughly shaken by the complete incident.
My uncle carried me back home while Prasad silently followed us. My mom hed about the incident and came rushing out.
I was absolutely fine and all I got was a bad cold and fear.
But I had definitely scared the shit out of others....
