The Governor's Palace
In the vibrant city of Calcutta, an atmosphere of celebration filled the air. The residents enjoyed each day as if it were a special occasion, particularly the children who reveled in the joyous atmosphere. Among the prominent figures in Calcutta were the three brothers: Martin, Albert, and Johnny, who happened to be the governor's siblings. A grand function was organized at the residence of the governor's brother, and the festivities were enjoyed by all who attended.

As time passed, a tragic event unfolded that left the community in shock. The untimely deaths of the three brothers brought sorrow and confusion, as the cause of their demise remained a mystery. The once lively house of the brothers gradually transformed into a somber and desolate place, only preserving the memories of the vibrant trio. Stories about their lives were passed down from generation to generation, captivating the imaginations of children. The mysterious circumstances surrounding their deaths fueled fear among the locals, and the house acquired a reputation as a haunted dwelling.

Among the curious children was a boy named Tom, whose father, Kaveen, worked as a property dealer. Tom's inquisitive nature led him to yearn for more knowledge about the enigmatic brothers. One day, his curiosity got the better of him, and he ventured inside the house. Startled by a strange noise, Tom hastily retreated, sharing his experience with his friends. Consequently, the children began referring to the place as the Haunted House. Upon hearing about this, Tom's father decided to relocate his son, ensuring he would stay away from the haunting influence of the house. They settled in Aleppe, a town known for its captivating natural surroundings.

In Aleppe, Tom enrolled in Saint Paul School after completing his eighth grade. As he pursued his education, Tom made new friends and acquaintances, although he cherished memories of his old companion. One winter morning, Tom's father assigned him the task of whitewashing the fence. Lacking enthusiasm for the chore, Tom encountered his friend Jim, attempting to persuade him to take over the task. Employing various incentives such as toys and marbles, Tom managed to entice Jim into completing the job for him. However, in the process, Tom forgot to deliver the promised rewards to Jim, who had been captivated solely by the allure of participating in the task.

Years passed, and Tom successfully completed his twelfth grade. He subsequently secured admission to Saint George University, where he shared a room with a female roommate named Jimmy. The two developed a close friendship, and months later, the university arranged a trip to India. Tom's excitement turned to apprehension when he discovered the destination: Kolkata, the city where the governor's haunted house was located. Despite Tom's trepidation, none of his friends believed his claims about the haunted nature of the house, except for his roommate.

Reluctantly, Tom accompanied his fellow students to Kolkata, as the trip was mandatory for all. Upon reaching the house, the students were met with eerie sights within the dilapidated walls. Nevertheless, they bravely entered the house and commenced the task of cleaning it. The first day was spent in thorough cleaning, and when nightfall arrived, the students retired to their respective rooms.

The following day, the students gathered at a local restaurant for a meal. The proprietor inquired about their origins and destination, and upon learning they were from Paris and residing in the old governor's house, he disclosed the house's haunted reputation. According to the owner, anyone staying in the house for more than three days would receive a warning before meeting a grisly demise. He assured the students that he was a saint and could be approached for assistance whenever needed.

Returning to the house, the students continued their stay, initially enjoying themselves. However, on the third day, a chilling incident occurred that shattered any remaining doubts about the house's haunted nature. One of Tom's friends witnessed a ghastly sight as he approached the main door—an unsettling flow of blood seeping out from beneath it. Alarmed, he hurriedly relayed the terrifying discovery to their teacher, but skepticism clouded the responses of the others, dismissing it as a mere joke.

As night descended upon the house, the students gathered upstairs, where they stumbled upon a locked room. Fueled by curiosity, Alex, one of the students, took it upon himself to unlock the door. To their horror, they encountered a massive, menacing shadow that fragmented into three distinct figures—Martin, Albert, and Johnny. Alex and the teacher, in an attempt to investigate further, bravely entered the room, only to meet their tragic demise at the hands of the sinister shadow.

In a state of panic, Tom rushed outside, desperately seeking help. He called upon the saint whom they had met earlier. When the saint and his companions arrived at the house, they were confronted with a gruesome scene—a majority of the students had fallen victim to the malevolent forces at play. The saint, armed with sacred ash, confronted the nefarious shadow, managing to temporarily subdue it. With a firm voice, the saint demanded to know the intentions of the three brothers.

In a haunting revelation, the brothers disclosed the truth behind their demise. They revealed that their own uncle had orchestrated their murders, motivated solely by greed and the desire for their inheritance. The brothers had been wrongfully killed and buried within the confines of their own home. Driven by vengeance, they haunted the premises, seeking justice for their untimely demise.

Attentively listening to their plight, the saint acknowledged their pain and resolved to help them find closure. He asked what it would take for them to finally leave the house and find peace. In a chilling response, the brothers demanded the presence of their treacherous uncle within the haunted house. They yearned for him to witness the consequences of his actions. Determined, the saint and Tom embarked on a mission to locate the uncle and bring him to the house.

Using a clever ruse, Tom convinced his uncle that a significant sum of money awaited him at the governor's house. Succumbing to temptation, the uncle accompanied them to the fateful location. As they ascended the stairs, a petrified expression crossed his face when the three governors materialized before him. Realizing the gravity of his deeds, the uncle pleaded for forgiveness, confessing his wrongdoing. But it was too late. The vengeful brothers, driven by years of suffering, executed their revenge, ending the life of their treacherous uncle.

With the injustice finally rectified, the spirits of Martin, Albert, and Johnny departed from this world, finding solace in the divine realms. The surviving students, awestruck by the bravery and determination displayed by Tom and the saint, returned home, forever changed by their haunting encounter. Their acts of courage were recognized, and they were rewarded for their bravery in the face of danger.

The governor's house, once shrouded in darkness and fear, gradually regained its former splendor, echoing with the joy and laughter of new generations. The memory of the three brothers persisted, not as a tale of terror, but as a testament to the triumph of justice and the resilience of the human spirit.
