And that's on trauma: Voiceless pt 2
A few days later, she took me to the doctor. I remember sitting inside the room, laying on the table as my mom sat across from me. She didn't want to leave because she knew what I would tell the doctor. I for some reason didn't even bother to fight her on it, I was exhausted and gaslighted to the point where I thought that maybe I was crazy after all.

The doctor came in and did a regular check up. My mom got to talking and told him about how I ran away and told everyone at the park that they were abusing me. The doctor ended up diagnosing me with some kind of pre menstrual syndrome and prescribed me birth control pills to help with my period. Blood test were later done and I came to find out that I was extremely anemic.

I was anemic because I wasn't eating the right foods. There was hardly any food in the fridge because my dad never went food shopping for us, mainly my mom and when she bought groceries, it wasn't enough for a family of 7 people although they had the money and the food I was eating wasn't exactly healthy it was all snack food. When she cooked dinner we would eat and she'd leave it on the stove for an entire day and us kids would still eat out of it due to being starving.

I thought it was completely normal to be eating left out food and thought nothing of it. We were middle class and lived like we were extremely low income. It then came together of why I was so tired and sick often.
