She smiled with determination,
Life was tough, but so was she.

She honestly believed a women’s work was never done, working early morning to well in the dark, caring for everything and everyone, ensuring all needs and a few desires were met.

Day in and day out, the routines continued, building a little here and a little there, she built some nest eggs to carry them through. Someday, she would make her dream come true.

Reaching old age, everyone gone, she went back to school to get her degree. Working through the day and studying at night, she finally reached the goal with glee.

Her family was grown and gone, but, she could serve, still, others who needed and valued her care, building lasting memories in hearts everywhere.

When the day came to be called home, not one eye was dry. She had left the memories of chocolate covered gold, the beauty covered in sweet, on every heart.
