It has been three weeks since I was put in solitary confinement after I tried to commit suicide. I write this because I really need someone out there to talk to, someone to hear the story from my point of view, a vantage point not only the ones that have been circulating on social and print media.
I just wish I had listened to my grandfather's wise words. I used to think he was just some old drunkered from Serenje, with dementia....who most of the times couldn't even remember half of what he said.
"The day that a mosquito lands on a man's testicles is the day that he realises that some problems can be solved without using violence". He would say these words whenever I got into a fight, I used to be short tempered....maybe I still am. Anyway, the point is that sometimes I let pride get the best of me, I used to be proud of things that I should have been ashamed of.
