Teesta- A River
Few months ago I was at Haldibari. A village in the northern part of West Bengal and West Bengal is in the eastern part of India. Teesta flows playing beside the village.
I remember it was a hot day lying on the river side as I can't swim. I was with my friends. We were five to six in numbers having fun drinking alcohol. I was very happy to escape from the daily work life. Actually I forgot who I am and where from I am. I was just trying to see the end of the river but failed. It has no end like my thirst for escapism. Time was passing away like the alcohol in the bottle. I will have to move on to join office the next day. When I was returning, by the road side there was a bench like sitting arrangement. Generally in a village one can see it made with bamboo. So it was under various big trees. There were three to four shops. Clean Road and beautyful breeze to relax oneself from the scorching heat. Birds were like singing. The languages were absolutely unknown to me. Still I enjoyed greatly. A dream like moment it was. I wished if I could get such a place to spend the rest of the life.
