The festival of Holi in the Indian town of Vrindavan, located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, was not only a celebration of joy and colour, but also a celebration of love—the love between Radha and Krishna.

According to legend, Radha was the beloved of Lord Krishna, and the two were inseparable. They spent their days frolicking in the forests of Vrindavan, singing and dancing with their friends, and sharing their love for each other. And so, every Holi, the people of Vrindavan celebrated this love by reenacting the playful romance of Radha and Krishna.
