Crippled girl's poignant solace
This is a true story with a few things changed, the identity of the character has not been revealed for personal reasons.
Reality indeed sucks!

Sometimes people tired of indifference indeed do go through a stage wherein they see "life as dark and death as light."
The bird's image is real. It's the injured shikra that was my inspiration. No amount of effort on my side could gather help from the wildlife bird health 24hour services; the online injured bird services phone kept on ringing while life withered away. I write this story in the memory of the bird.

In the bustling city, amidst the chaos and noise, there lived a young girl named Missy, who was as fragile as a fallen leaf. She was confined to her small apartment, a crippled girl with dreams of freedom. From her balcony, she often watched the world outside.

One fateful day, she spotted a shikra, a raptor bird(kite) in the distance, struggling with a broken wing. The majestic bird fought desperately to cling to life, but the other birds like crows and even the dogs, blinded by their cruelty, attacked it relentlessly. Missy felt a deep connection to the shikra's plight, seeing herself in its struggle for survival in a heartless world.

As the day turned into dusk, the Shikra's valiant efforts gave way, and death approached with gentle wings. Missy saw it unfold before her eyes, the injured bird finding solace in the beauty of eternal rest. A tear slid down her cheek, understanding the peace that death could bring compared to the burden of life's cruelty.

From her balcony, she recited a poignant poem:

"In life's cage, we yearn to soar, Like the eagle, broken, we implore. Death's slumber, a sweet release, Embracing peace, our souls find ease."

As the sun set, Missy felt a strange calmness wash over her. She knew her time would come, and like the shikra, she too would find solace in the arms of death, leaving behind the callous city life that had forsaken her.
