SCENE 1
[The scene opens with a man tied to a stake. Suddenly, two men dressed like palace guards comes to the stage and one of them draws out his sword and beheads the man. A dirge rises from the backstage and then suddenly, the dirge fades away as well as the light. The light comes on again revealing a man with his face gloomy on centerstage. He stands for a while before he speaks.]
NARRATOR
[He points to the mans body on stake who is beheaded earlier] This is the tragedy of Socrate.
The man full of wisdom,
a blessing from Athena,
the goddess of wisdom and the virgin deity.
The man whose life is that of history in Athens,
the home of philosophy and oratory.
Socrate was not born with silver spoon in his mouth
but he dished out words of wisdom for the fame and prosperity of Athens
which made the Delphi oracle call him the wisest man in Athens.
He lost his parent at tender age
but he grew under the tutelage of his grandfather
who taught him to search for wisdom
for building a great nation but his dreams of building Sparta.
The spartans were more concern with battles rather than philosophy
however that is not the reason for his death.
[He walks toward the audiences seated]
Come with me and let journey back
to the ancient city-state of sparta
and investigate the reason for his death.
A man of wisdom life is more searching for.
Come, let learn some words of wisdom from Socrate.
May be he can teach us the way of life.
Follow me and do not be distracted.
[he beckons to the audiences seated. Then he leaves through the isles while a soft song rises briefly before the light goes off on stage.]
SCENE 2
[The light comes on stage revealing Agis, the king of sparta discussing with Barbara, his wife in their chamber]
AGIS
My queen,
You look foul in your countenance
What can brightens the soul of my fair lady?
BARBARA

What troubles my soul is unspeakable.
AGIS...
