Jesusand the 3rd Commandment

3rd commandment. 3️⃣
Against blasphemy:
Deuteronomy 5:11
[11]Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Jesus forbade using the name of God or His Throne or His City in vain by taking an Oath:
Matthew 5:34-35
[34]But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
🌨️👼🌨️
[35]Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
🌏🏛️

He also warned that speaking against the Spirit of God is a grievous, unpardonable sin:
Matthew 12:31-32
[31]Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.🗣️
[32]And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

He added that speaking wicked and idle words are punishable:
Matthew 12:36-37
[36]But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.🗯️🗨️💬
[37]For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.🤬🤐🤫

Jesus showed His power to pardon sins but priests took it as blasphemy:
Luke 5:20-21
[20]And when He saw their faith, He said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.👍
[21]And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?🧐

His admission as Son of God was also downplayed as blasphemy:
John 10:36-37
[36]Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?👨‍👦
[37]If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
👥✨

The religious order of His time used blasphemy as a primary accusation for Him to be crucified:
Mark 14:64-65
[64]Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.
[65]And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.
