Mirror mirror on the floor
Mirror mirror on the floor...

Here are all the mirrors in my house, collecting dust, not a single one hanging on a wall. Not in the bathroom, not in the bedroom, no where.

As renovations continue, we're in no hurry to get them back up.

It got me thinking about self-awareness this week.

Knowing what we stand for requires self-awareness.

But can we be too self-aware?

There's a line between self-awareness and self-consciousness.

We want to be aware of ourselves, how our behaviour affects others in our language, in our tone of voice and in our body language.
But, not be paranoid about it.

We have a choice of what we focus on and if we choose to focus on how we are coming across externally more than how we come across to ourselves, it can put us in an unbalanced state of awareness.

This is what self-truth is about. It's what self-love is about. Being who you want to be and not reaching out for the validation from others.

We know our boundaries and if we aware, we can also use our truth to ask ourselves, "am I doing this for approval, validation or praise from the external world, or, am I doing this because this is what I believe, what I want to be and it makes me happy?"

It's important to question ourselves properly.

Don't ask yourself how you get someone else to validate what you are.

Ask yourself what you want to be, and be that.
And no further questions asked. Just be ❤
