I remember the days before covid 19 as clear as crystal , talking and laughing with friends , going out to explore my homeland , meeting new people , going to school and church.
I remember my last day at the beach as it were yesterday . I would relax under the warm sun, and my sisters and cousins would play in the sand, that ticked their toes on the beautiful beach of hellshire , St Catherine . That day we ate sweet Festival dumplings and spicy jerk chicken mmmm ! so flavourful !we enjoyed that day.
I can still hear the screams and the shouts of students cheering for their houses on sports day. My friends and other classmates would have bet which house would won. We wore our house's color and watch the cheerleaders cheer and represent.
Now all those memories pile up in my memory as I sit on my bed writing this story. these days all I have are those precious memories that I will treasure, as I can no longer go back to school, to the beach, or church. instead I have to stay home in quarantine, do online classes, and online church .The government implemented lockdowns , curfews and social distancing .
Covid-19 did not only cause drama and chaos , but for me it brought joy and it Drew me closer to a better perspective of life , It taught me to be more responsible, it taught me to be more closer to God. It made me spend more time with my family , and I even learn new skills . An advice I give you in this time of misery is to remember the times you've spent before covid-19.
