A beast or a human (Chapter 2)
(Aurora's POV)

The mild sunlight came in through the curtains of half opened window and I could listen the melodious chirping of birds. The fragrance of flowers which granny had planted in the garden, filled the room and the cool fresh morning breeze felt refreshing. I yawned, got off the bed and went straight to the washroom for morning rituals. I was pretty much excited for the first day of my college. This is just opposite of what I was feeling the previous night. I washed my hair with citrus fragrance hair wash and took a quick shower. I came out wearing a peach coloured bath robe and wore this army green coloured crop top and paired it with the blue ripped jeans which is also one of my favourites. I tied my black hairs in a bun after I blow dried them and applied the wine red coloured matte lipstick.

"Perfect", I complimented myself as I stood before the mirror, grabbed my backpack and went down stairs. After preparing the breakfast, Granny already went to the store as costumers started coming. I poured myself a glass of orange juice and ate the french toasts she had made. And after I finished eating, I wore a pair of white sneakers and went to say goodbye to my granny. "Enjoy your first day of college", she said and hugged me. I nodded and walked towards the college. It was at the walking distance and I checked my watch, I still had half an hour left so I decided to walk.

" Don't act reckless and don't cause any accident." This was the only thing I kept on reminding myself. I need to keep my identity a secret from everyone until I'm in the college. I had already planned to go live somewhere else after graduating. There is nothing in this world except my powers of which I'm afraid of. The problem with them is that I can't control them well. That's why I prevent using them. I had already caused many accidents when I was in school but thankfully no one got injured badly and I didn't got caught. But that won't be the same in college. Here people will be much more observant. I'll get caught if I made even a slightest mistake. Thinking about all these things, I didn't noticed when I took the wrong turn and found myself in an unfamiliar neighborhood. So I walked back towards the street from where I turned wrong. Suddenly I heard a faint meow coming from somewhere nearby. I stopped and tried listening to it but the meowing stopped and I thought that I heard wrong and started walking again. But suddenly I felt a pain in my neck as if someone had pierced it with it's teeth. I felt my neck bone almost broke. My knees gave up because of the pain and I fell on the street. I wanted to call for help but I could barely speak and only a whisper came out. And soon that pain disappeared. Though I experienced it for a while but I understood what had happened to that cat and it needed help immediately. I got up and started searching the surrounding and roughly after ten minutes I found a black kitten lying half dead near the bushes behind the trash can. I sat and carefully took him out of the bushes. He was just the size of my palm and his breathing was very slow and there were biting wounds near his neck. I looked for the passer bys and then took him with me to the park. There I washed his wound with the water bottle I was having and then I thought of healing him. But I can't heal him properly in a public place so I healed his wound to the extent they weren't too deep. I looked at my watch and only five minutes were left but I couldn't leave him alone there so I took him home.
Granny was confused to see me there, "Why are you returning?" She asked.
I told her about the kitten and went up into my room. There I closed the door as soon as I entered and sat on the bed. The kitten was still in my hands and I started healing him. I put my hand on the wounds and after 15 seconds I felt the wounds healing. I could sense him breathing normally so when I was done healing him, I put him on the bed and went down to bring him some milk.

Healing is always good and I think I like to use my powers to take away their pain. But I always get headache whenever I do that. Anyway, I opened the refrigerator door and grabbed a packet of milk and poured it in a orange plastic bowl and then went upstairs to feed him but he was still asleep. So I put the bowl under the bed and I lay on the bed by his side stroking his soft fur coat. He felt me stroking him and snuggled close to me. Though he was sleeping, he started purring and I can sense that he felt relaxed and secure. I was happy I saved him but today was the first day of my college and I was a little upset about it. I know it isn't a big deal but I was still a bit upset about it so I thought of going to the college building just to take a look at it. When I reached there, I saw many students roaming outside. "The classes haven't started yet, or they?", I thought and went inside the building to find the classes going on.
" Ohh, they are skipping the classes.", I don't get it why people skip classes. Like, if they don't want to attend them they can just stay home. Why come here? But it's still their business I don't have to be concerned about it. I decided to have a look around and went to the building's backside. It was a large botanical garden owned by our college, actually it was a forest land which they converted into a garden. Many species of plants and trees that weren't native were planted there and the woodsy fragrance filled my nostrils. I love this fragrance as I feel connected to it. Unknowingly I went deep into the forest but realised it when I felt a strange presence nearby.
