1. Forest walk
At the break of a dawn, I stumble upon a hidden path in the forest veiled by ancient trees and whispering secrets of the past. With a deep breath I ventured forth.
I walked straight towards the woods without noticing the fact that my friends had left behind. I saw a baby elephant standing at the corner hugging the trunk of a tree. He was extremely calm as if he didn't sense any danger from me. We both were alone, separated from our respective groups.
I don't have any words to describe his beauty. I wanted to pat his head. I wanted to hold his large ears. Mere touch of his body would be enough to quench my animal lover curiosity. But anyhow I controlled my emotions.
I didn't want to give false hope to this baby. My playful cuddling may give him the impression that all humans are safe and friendly. I know in the forest several hunters would be searching for innocent animals like him. I would pray that he would be safe in the future away from hunters, away from humans.
With these thoughts in my mind, I started walking backwards. After a walk of a few minutes I heard the trumpet of adult elephants. I was giggling. Thanks to heaven! He found his family.

2. Midnight sun
That night was so bright. If it were not clocks then no one could realise that it was a night. That evening was brighter and never-ending. Birds were waiting for the sun set. Their chirping was telling something was not right. Street dogs were whealing or maybe lamenting. The intensity of the light was increasing with the passage of time. But there was no warmth in the atmosphere. It was cold like a January winter. An orphan was sleeping on the street. When someone held him in his arms and walked towards a relatively warmer place. It was like midnight sun. With every step the brightness and warmness was increasing.

Garbage collector while picking the trash tried to move the body of the kid. Police arrived, and the doctor declared death from frostbite. That midnight sun was the gate to heaven where that orphan would never see a dark cold night again.

3. Book store
In the heart of the bustling city, a forgotten, dusty bookshop beckoned with its creaking sign.
Inside amidst the piles of books I found a novel with a blank front cover. Due to curiosity I flipped the pages and found a half piece of pendant hanging on the thread of a bookmark. This piece.. this piece. I think I have seen the other half of this piece. I bought that novel and went straight to my grandmother’s house. My granny was resting on her rocking chair. I handover that book in her hands. She was overwhelmed.
She told me that it was the first copy of the novel that my grandfather had written. He gifted her on her birthday. But while visiting the library she had lost that book. Now by returning the novel to her, I had also awakened her long last memories of her youth.
