Rape and the LGBTQIA community
Less of a story
more of a speech
hope you like it

----------------------

In a society where women were supposed to be sensitive and nurturing and men were supposed to be strong and insensitive , imagine the idea of a male rape. No one will accept it. Just like martial rape isn't a thing in most countries , male rape isn't one either. Take into consideration the fact that so many countries and remote countries still believe in the masculinity of men. It is and must be extremely hard to report a sexual assault towards a male , in a society with the "men are superior" custom.

They must be afraid of being doubted about their sexual orientation if raped by a man and their masculinity if otherwise raped by a women. I believe that we haven't given enough confidence to men to open up about their insecurities and they are still labelled to be strong and masculine.

Isn't that why it is so hard for other people to accept the LGBTQIA community. It has been the status quo for so long that men are the stronger one and we have seen and read so many movies and books with a man and a women falling in love , but they idea of being gay was hidden until now when there is a whole month , PRIDE MONTH , to celebrate gay community.

In the case of books let's take the author Cassandra Clare. In her New York best sellers series , 'the Shadowhunter Chronicles' she has openly written about gay couples, bisexuality, and the transgender community. A mere small number of authors wrote about the LGBTQ community before, but now with the pride month, and the fact that people and countries are slowly getting educated and open to this community , people have started writing in protest and support.

As a community, LGBTQ people face more threat and are more vulnerable to rapes or sexual assaults. They face higher hate- motivated violence , which often take form of a sexual assault. So many lesbian and bisexual women are sexually assaulted by men to prove them wrong about their own sexuality. We all can understand it being hard for people to accept the fact that they are lesbian , but there is a limit to the ignorance and their beliefs cannot lead to the sexual assault of another.

In acceptance of rape culture and I will also fight for the male victims and the LGBTQIA community that fall prey to this heinous crime.
