Chapter 23: Facing Myra
Ryan entered Myra's room. He was nervous and worried. He couldn't think of what to say to her. Should he apologize to her first? She was resting, her eyes were closed. Ryan slowly walked towards the chair next to her and sat down. He looked at Myra and saw the bandages on her hand and head. He then stared at the machines, still thinking about what to say. He noticed Myra looked pale and weak, probably due to the medicines and injuries. He was thinking about how much pain he had caused her, yet he couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful she is and how much he wants to tell her that he loves her. Suddenly, Myra opened her eyes and was slightly shocked to see Ryan sitting there. She said, 'What are you doing here? Where are Mom and Dad? Did they manage to get Emma back? Where are they?' 'You don't have to be here, Ryan. You know that.' Ryan couldn't stop himself, tears rolling down his cheeks. He said, 'I am sorry, Myra, for everything. I'm sure you wish you had never met me, and I'm sorry for causing you so much pain. Please forgive me. Myra looked at Ryan and said, 'So, you do understand that was wrong, isn't it? What made you do all this? Weren't you ashamed of hurting me? What possible human explanation can there be for hurting someone who cared...
