There was a point in my life when I wanted to stop, quit, and leave everything behind just to disappear to the point of changing and hiding my identity.
Then I started to love myself and enjoy my company. This made all the difference.
The following is an imaginary description of a day spent in self-love….
My husband suggested, “Let’s go to meet my parents.”
I inquired, “Are the kids ready to go?”
He answered, “Yes. They, too, want to meet their grandparents. Come join us. We’ll enjoy the long drive.”
I lied, “I have chores to do. And tomorrow I have a presentation in the office. If I come, I’ll have to stay awake till late at night. You three go and enjoy.”
He agreed. My in-laws’ lived at an hour’s drive from our place. I handed over some snacks for them to munch on the way. The kids were...
