Thunder broke ground
and the little girl hid under her tree,

“Are you afraid for your life?” asked the tree.

Puzzled by it all,
the little girl's breathing got heavier,

‘All I wanted was to stay in bed today,
but I can’t stop this feeling
of wanting to run.
I just don’t know where to go
she’s everywhere
and everywhere makes me sad.'

It began to down pour
‘Why aren’t you crying?” replied the tree.

‘I rather crawl back into bed, sleep makes it go away.’

The tree hunched into the shape of her bed.
and spoke,

… “Shhhhh take a deep breath little girl,
we can do this together…
life is watered down when tears stay inside
every cup you drink is meant to be shared
give it all back surrender and quench the essence of this life.
It’s okay little girl, we’ll cry together.”

The little girl, the tree and
the entire world above her
began to cry.

“Go out into the rain
and leave behind your umbrella
I’m sorry shall shower on you
unconditionally, this is love.”

Soaked with tears and rain,
the little girl tucked her chin to her knees
and looked up at the tree, quietly gasping,

‘My heart just won’t open’.

“Calm or restless
sad, broken or healing,
no matter what,
your heart shall beat thousands of times today
and thousands tomorrow
please be good to your heart.
Sometimes love has to be new
and you can love a thousand times today
this sadness happens when love passes away.
It hurts what feels like a thousand times today
it’s easier to hide behind a tree
shaped like your bed.

Hugging the tree, the little girl asked,

‘What if I’m a failure?
can I make it out there?’

the tree took a deep breath, and blew the little girl a kiss, smiled, and said,

“You manifested me.
Gather the discipline to gather,
break ground just as the thunder has
your heart carries plenty of water
and passion is your soil
branches are meant to fall
seeds are born to fly away
go with the wind
your gifts shall be your new roots
abundant will be your garden
now, love has to be new.
so give it all back
let wind take us go with the flow.”
