"Yeah I'll be fine." said Shawn, despite his heavy sigh and shaking his head; he opened the car door, glancing to Kelsey sitting in her Dodge caliber, barely five years old.
He couldn't believe he was seeing her again.
He had imagined she would never set foot in this state again and thought even if she did she wouldn't be too happy to see him.
Maybe all that church going had her doing that forgiveness thing.

He pushed on his front door that was halfway open, letting it swing wide open, hitting the wall behind it.
At first he saw no immediate signs of life besides the coffee table turned over from the night before.
He peered down the hallway to see where his dad had kicked down his bedroom door.
Then he noticed the sound of running water coming from the opposite end of the trailer.

He stomped down the hallway and gripped the doorknob fiercely, jerking it open releasing a trail of steam.
It was the shower running.
