Lost Childhood 6
Sara was very proud of Jorge and would brag about him to all of her friends whenever an opportunity presented itself. He had also started sending her money when he could to help her continue her studies in nursing school. When they were able to talk, they would discuss the dreams they had for their future life together.

She had one more year of schooling and she would then be able to begin the life she always dreamed about. Caring for those who needed help caring for themselves; whether they were injured, sick or just in need of assistance. She also liked the idea of becoming a traveling nurse so that she didn’t have to be stuck in one place.

Traveling and seeing the world, meeting new people and visiting new places was truly a dream of hers. She had really never been anywhere but Columbia and the United States. Her family had moved from there straight to Texas and she was excited about being able to see more of her new country.

Sara enjoyed being able to help the Petersons in her spare time. She really missed Mrs. Peterson; they had become really close in the two years she had cared for her. There was still a lot to do with helping Mr. Peterson take care of Emily. It wasn’t exactly nursing but it still allowed her to help. Mitchell really liked having her around, that way he could concentrate on working from home.

It also left her plenty of time for classes and studying. Allowing her to not have to be home all the time. Mr. Peterson let her use Marjorie’s car to transport Emily back and forth to school and run household errands. She appreciated that because it gave her a sense of freedom which she didn’t have when at home.

The only requirements were to be careful and not to run out of gas. Sara was very responsible and didn’t allow anyone in the car but Emily, Michael and one or two of their friends. As far as gas was concerned that wouldn’t be a problem with the money she made along with the money Jorge sent her. She was really getting use to El Paso and her new life in Texas.
