Unescorted Edge
Once upon a time, there was a soldier named David. He had survived through many battles. The first time he joined this profession, he met a girl named Amecia who was also a soldier. He shared his fighting skills and personal feelings with her, he believed her. In a war, he realized that the girl was a spy from the opponent's side. This left him heartbroken. But life has to locomote no matter what, so with growing years he added layers to his personal self in order to become impeccable.
Many years later, David returns home and decides to spend his idle time ploughing his own field. He could find tranquility being in seclusion. One day his seclusion gets disrupted due to a laughter. He turns back in amazement to see who it was. She was a girl, not that beautiful, playing with the kids of the village. At the first instance, he considered her to be a kiddo. Not his fault! Maybe she was a kiddo.
Next day, he happens to meet the girl at the market. The girl was chatty and craked jokes all the time. As David turned back to return home, the girl stopped him to hand over his wallet that he was leaving behind in the market. She was amazed to see him and wanted to know more about him. Since then she tried several means to explore him. David did satiate her curiosity because he did not want to hurt her, she was sweet and innocent anybody might have acted alike.
As days pass by, they become great friends. People say TIME FLIES AWAY... Well! No one clarifies that GOOD times fly away faster. It was time for David to leave his hometown to join his profession as a soldier.
Moni knew that it was time for David, her best friend, to leave for his duty. Maybe she was seeing him for the last time.
She was being narcissistic to think that she could stop him, but David had his own life. Maybe she should be happy about the moments they had spent together or be melancholic about the fact that they ever met. Maybe David was too selfish to leave her when it comes to his duty. Perhaps everything was a myth or maybe she was overthinking.
The train whistles... David and Moni exchanged looks for the last time. She then bade him goodbye saying that if he thinks that she would miss him then he would be mistaken.
The train goes away and vanishes into thin air. Moni's laughter flies away with it.
