A Heart's Enchantment
It was an ordinary Friday, much like any other for everyone, but not for me. As I caught a glimpse of her walking down the college corridor, my heart skipped a beat. A radiant smile adorned her face as I called out her name, "Alisa"to which she replied with a sweet affirmation, "Yes, David."
"Do you know, what love is?" I began, my voice trembling with vulnerability.
"I don't know, because I've never experienced it, David." She replied softly.
I continued, Oh! What a coincidence. Even I have never been fortunate enough.
But, I want you to know that
Whenever sarrow befalls you, know that I yearn to be your solace. I want to run my fingers through your hair, wipe away your tears and be the one you turn to in times of need. And that when you are happy, I aspire to be the source of that happiness. I dream of preparing a cozy bed for you each night, of sharing breakfast with our children, of playing melodious song for you upon my guitar. Together, we shall weather the passage of time, our hair turning from ebony to silver. Alisa, I want to do everything with you, and only you.
Yet, as the words escaped my lips, I awoke from my sleep, realising it was but a dream. The morning sunlight of Friday greeted me, and I realised I was already running late for my first class.
