In the north of the country, Luzon group of islands, specifically the capital where slums flourish. Underneath those towering bridges that symbolizes the major discrepancy between the rich and the poor, lives a group of delinquents. Among them was Jaime Santos, contrary to his surname, he often commits dark errands from pompous people who wants their opponent rid of their lives. His business of being a hired killer peak its demand during elections.
Life started hard for Jaime because right after birth her mother left him in an orphanage managed by nuns. At age eleven, encouraged by his friends outside, they explored other towns and while playing he got lost. He transitioned sleeping on streets from walkways to flyovers. Everyday he begged for food from strangers who come by the deli store. As he grew, a new set of friends influenced him to deal illegal drugs to increase his earnings. Blinded by the promise of a better living state, he climb up the ladder to become the right hand of a drug lord.
Conflict came when he fell in love with his master's daughter of which he was tasked to protect. Learning about the relationship, his master was furious and ordered for his demise. While being hunted down, Jaime received information that the daughter committed suicide due to heightened depression. Yearning for revenge, he stormed into the mansion and killed everyone on site.
After that incident, he decided to lie low and lived in a boarding house in the suburban area. The house was owned by a good friend, a former maid of his master's daughter. She was raising a child although odd in the mind of Jaime but he never bothered to ask because it's rude. Surprisingly, he was closely drawn to this child and acted as his uncle because he spoils him to often with gadgets.
One day Jaime saw the kid playing with the new smartphone that he bought for him. Jaime asked what kind of game he is playing and if he can also try it. The kid gave way learning from his mom that his uncle was a good shot in carnival games before. He told him that he was playing BETA, a very popular shooting game made by PROPHET Incorporated. Like a professional gamer, Jaime cleared everything with ease after all it was his bread and butter which was not known to everyone. Days continued like routine for Jaime and his new-found family.
