Some Hundred Years
Once upon a time, on the banks of a large pond, we sat on a park bench. In this evening hour, there was a beautiful sunset behind the trees, which were mostly still bare on this first warm day of spring. Every now and then, enjoying the atmosphere, people kept walking past.

At some point you lay sideways on the bench, your head in my lap, your legs stretched out comfortably and relaxed. During our conversation about this and that which moved us that day, you casually asked: "Who will remember us in a hundred years?"

I gently ran my hand over your hair. After a few moments, looking into your sparkling eyes, I whispered: "I will remember us and our story." I looked at the first petals of a bush, shining brightly in the evening light. "Yes, I most definitely will."

Then I placed a gentle kiss on your lips. First a short one. Just a few moments later, a longer one.
