The diamond necklace on the mannequin looked familiar. She placed her palm on the window that separated them and leaned in closer. What a beauty it was, once again she was taking it in. A gift of freedom it had been.
Life had always sucked for Tanya. Her mother had left her in the streets wrapped in a blanket when she was still a baby. She had been taken to a children's home. Her first foster family took her in when she was 10 but had later realized they could not deal with a stubborn kid like her. Life became a movement from one foster care to another and back to the children's home. No love, even from the sisters who took her in.
On her eighteenth birthday she decided to go look for greener pastures. The universe was kind a bit to enable her secure a job and a room which she shared with four others. However, she dreamt of a luxurious life. A life of fun and parties, one she couldn't afford with her current wage. She tried getting up to 3 jobs and her income was still not enough.
