"Why are you so upset vaidehi?"

"Oh no, not at all, why would I be upset at all. This is exactly what I imagined, we'll celebrate your promotion here, on this stupid hill, alone, without chocolates and darkness all around. That's a nice way of celebrating arjun! I'm proud of you". Arjun smiled. He put his arms around her and pulled her as close as possible to him, Arjun said, " Vedu, here we are on this hilltop under the starlit sky, with just your smile lighting my spirit and no mobiles so that no one could disturb us tonight. And yeah I know, I promised a chocolate but see I've got something else for you."

Vaidehi relaxed her body, spreading her legs, she put her head on his shoulders, after the death of her father, the only strong shoulder that was there was for her was his.

"Okay, I know it's one of your poetry, go on. I'm all ears."

Arjun planted a small kiss on her head and said, "but you have always been my favorite poetry vedu."

Okay enough of ranting, what have you got for me, tell me now, said vaidehi.

Arjun took a long breath and said, " see vedu, I know I'm an idiot. I mess up things. I eat nachos with nutella and samosa with chashni."

Vaidehi laughed.

Arjun's heart melted like butter in a hot frying pan.

" But trust me vedu, I would anything to make you smile. I don't what would I have done without you. Throughout these years, my past relationships, all failed tests, there's been one thing constant; you vedu. You. You're such a strong girl. I myself don't know how and when I fell in love with you. When the stealer of my icecream and toys because the stealer of my heart. But trust me vedu. I love you."

Vaidehi got up, and looked him straight in his eyes.

"What is the matter arjun? Why all this today?"

Arjun replied, " marry me vedu!"

Vaidehi stared at him, she couldn't believe her ears. She has been secretly loving arjun since the start. But wasn't brave enough to confess and to add cherry on the cake, arjun's good looks always attracted many girls towards him. But today when he said this, though she has been waiting all her life for this moment, when it finally happened, she couldn't utter a single word.

Arjun took both of her hands into his own and said, " look, ik what are you going to say, you're not enough for me, I deserve better. But you know what made me fall in love with you?! Unlike other girls you weren't waiting for your prince charming on a white horse, instead you always held a sword that was heavier than your hands. You're just perfect for me. Don't deny please vedu!"

With this, arjun pulled vaidehi into his embrace, vaidehi couldn't say anything more. Prayers of thankfulness and happy satisfaction fled like birds from her mouth.

After a little while, arjun went on his knees and pulled out his car keys and took the key chain and again asked vaidehi to marry him.

" You couldn't even get a ring arjun !", vaidehi smiled.

" I wanted it to be different..!"

She held out her hand. Arjun put the keyring on it and kissed her hand.

They both hugged once again.

Vaidehi while melting into arjun's arms, looked at the brightest star of the sky ( her dad ) with silver tears glistening in her eyes.....!
