Gougles in the Closet
#WritcoStoryPrompt39
Some dreams are meant to come true,. But what do you do when your nightmare comes true? Do run the opposite way or face your fears?
Another night. time to get ready for bed. Bed time had always made Sofia nervous. Its had been years since the horrible dream. Something on certain midnight moons made her stomach turn when it would reoccur.
Looking out the window, the sky was clear.
Beep. Beep.
The microwave went off her cup of warm milk and dandelion was ready.
She grabbed the cup and went to sit under the windowsill in her reading nook. Shelves filled with books, some from her grandfather and Oma's adventures. She picked up the book and opened to the page that was bent the universal sign of keeping a page.
Simon came and curled up beside the little heater she had placed by her feet. This winter had been cold and the last few days seemed to be in a deep freeze.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw the white whips, she felt safe.
...
THUD! THUD!
Jumping up Sofia drops the book out of her hand.
《 what was that?》
Slowly going to the stairs hallways, she peers her head around the corner.
Nothing.
Taking a breath she turns to walk k to the living room.
A Shadow of a person is there.
Frozen from terror, oh no.
