One Last Vacation

The village well as eerie even by the day. Stories of horror revolved around it. But nothing deterred me and my friends to explore it on that moonless, winter night. We go over to the whole place and everything is normal. Seems like the stories about this village are just rumors and just made to scare little kids.
While strolling, me and my friends saw a flock of birds landing on a rice field.
"Woah! That's a lot of birds. I wonder why they eat dinner this late?" Claude said mockingly.
"Man, they don't look like a "rice eating birds". Those birds are huge!" Eli scaredly said.
"Psh! That's just birds. There's nothing scary about that." Raven said arrogantly.
"Yeah, I agree with Raven. Birds are stupid!" I proudly said that makes them laugh a lot.
We laugh in the middle of the night insanely 'till our lungs came out. Suddenly, the wind becomes icy cold that give chills to your spine. The birds started to fly in different directions, making weird noises that's disturbing to hear....
