Jesus and the 10th Commandment
10th commandment. 🔟
Against covetousness:
Deuteronomy 5:21
[21]Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's. 🐴🥒🌽🥥💰👔

This law was thoroughly explained when somebody sought Jesus to intervene for his inheritance:
Luke 12:13
[13]And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.🏕️

He made use of a parable to illustrate how this sin endangers a man's life:
Luke 12:16-20
[16]And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
[17]And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
[18]And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.🍇🍐🍉🍊🥬🥦
[19]And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.🍻🍹🍸🥃🍾
[20]But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?😱😵🌜

He concluded that covetous people are poor in God's eyes:
Luke 12:21
[21]So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
🕤

Jesus explained that the Gospel becomes futile to those who are deceived by riches:
Matthew 13:22
[22]He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.🏚️

He exclaimed against the idea of gaining the world but losing life:
Matthew 16:26
[26]For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?🚷☢️

Jesus usually uses parables to speak about God's kingdom:
Mark 4:11
[11]And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables
