The smile on my face is real,
It bears witness to how I feel about you,
Because deep down,
You were the only one I felt closest to,
You were the only one willing to listen to me,
You were the only one who stood by me,
You were the only one who had never given me up,
You, of all the people I've met throughout my life,
You bring a ray of light through my darkest days,
Even if I was alone in a room,
Lost in my thoughts,
Keeping the past inside of me,
Because no one was willing to listen to me.

Whenever I'm with you,
I feel my chest getting lighter,
I feel of me wanting to smile,
Beneath my face that is like of stone,
You may not notice it, but it is there,
I just have to show it to you,
But it takes an effort for me,
Because I never had a friend before,
So it is a new experience for me,
And I'm sorry I didn't show it well for you,
But I am trying to.

There are a lot of things I wanted to say to you,
But there is always something holding me back,
Words would be tangled if I say it,
Then it would be the things that I will say that I didn't mean to,
But all that I wanted to say, above all others,
You matter to my life.

And the things that I wanted to say to you,
Ends up getting swallowed by the silence and the pauses in between,
So I hesitate for long moments,
And it ends up getting interrupted by something else out of my control.

In the end,
My words are buried within me.
