23
Once upon a time, there was a middle-aged woman who was 23. Her name was May. She was a lonely person who spent weekends alone. No one liked her, and everyone made fun of her, saying she was weird.
One day, she went to a cafe and ordered coffee. While she was drinking, she saw a news report about a haunted site that needed someone brave to visit. If they could survive and come out alive, they would win a big prize. Since May was free, she signed up and started preparing for the day. Checking the date, she realized it was just a few days away, so she went to bed early.
The next day, she woke up and called an Uber. She thought the driver was strange because he wasn't holding the steering wheel of the manual car—it seemed to be on autopilot. She ignored it and arrived at the haunted site. She knocked on the door, but no one answered, so she cautiously entered.
As she walked through the house, she heard a loud bang. When she turned around, the door had closed by itself. She took out the flashlight she had brought and started to explore. Feeling the chill, she decided to start a fire. As she set down her torch, it turned off by itself, startling her. She turned off the flashlight and pointed it at the wall, where she saw numerous skeletons. Goosebumps covered her skin.
Examining the house closely, something seemed familiar. After 30 minutes, she began setting up her equipment. She placed a music box in a child's room that also felt strangely familiar. Sitting on a broken bed, she wondered aloud, "Why does this look so familiar?" Suddenly, the music box started playing. Frightened, she recalled that this house was her childhood home, now abandoned.
Opening a cupboard, she found old photos of herself and her family. She realized that the ghosts she had encountered were actually friendly spirits from her childhood. The reason no one befriended her was because, since childhood, she had spoken to these spirits—believing them to be her parents who had passed away when she was young.
