The Application

I clicked on the website link. For sure, I am saving fuel and time by completing Jacoba, Inc's online application. As the document was loading, I considered my chances of getting an interview. I am not the only digital artist looking for work. I am innovative and fast. Yet, I'm smart enough to know my competition is equally innovative and fast.

I read the highlighted bar at the top of the page. Great, there is only one position available in the art department. Applicant must meet all qualifications to be considered. Immediately, a frown formed on my face when I read the company's list of qualifications. Well, this is a waste of time. I meet only four of the six skill sets.

I put my hand up to my mouth to wipe away the frown. After all, frowns produce more wrinkles than smiles. I said, "Jacoba, you're not raining on my parade today or making me look old." I tapped my foot as I scrolled through the application. One can always size up a company's worthiness...
