The tricoloured flag evoked a myriad of emotions in us. We watched with pride as it rose towards the summit. We had won.
and what lies ahead is nothing but prosperity peace but mostly freedom. The blue sky seemed bluer than usual as the sky hold promise. promise for a better future. a future that provided happiness among its people, a future that provides equality for its people. where men and women where equals. where women where treated with respect. where Thier views mattered thier opinions were taken in account. where cast was just a word not something that changed lives. as the tricolored flag of independence fluttered in India people had hope. the old veteran, the person who dedicated all of his childhood and youth just for our country to be free was lost in his thought as he was reading the newspaper. the news feed replete with murder, fraudulent cases, rape and massacre in name of caste. everything he hoped not to be seen in his new india. and he wondered aloud was this what he wanted. did he fight with his wit and his will to lose the independence to anarchy.
