We see a middle-aged woman, MISTI MITRA, lying almost lifeless on a hospital stretcher, an oxygen mask covering her face. Gripping Misti's hand, a young woman, TIYA GHOSH, struggles to convey something meaningful.
MISTI (strained): Tiya, will I... (takes a breath) be okay?
Tiya clasps Misti's hand, her voice trembling.
TIYA (pleading): Auntie, you have to get better. (pauses, then with a hint of emotion) Yes, you will get better, for Duti, Bunu, and Mr. Mitra...
MISTI: They've learned to manage on their own. (takes a breath) I feel my purpose slipping away...
Tiya, desperate, interrupts.
