God Is With Us All
On April 17, 1997 at 7A.M. I and my boyfriend, Tom left Sunset,Utah on his beautiful Harley Davidson motorcycle it was a beauty. We was headed for Henderson, NV. to see his mom. We soon got to Ceder City, Utah. As we stopped for breakfast and to warm up it was a very cool morning on a bike. This was a trucker cafe small but very good food. Then we went across the street to a gas station as he was putting the gas in the bike this man walked up to me and handed be a flyer like item and said God bless, then walked away , I never read it just put it into my coat pocket. We started once again on our way. I'd say we went 15 to 25 miles and broke down on the freeway, I did not say much, but I knew I was not walking alone to a phone, nor was I going to stay with the bike alone. No cell phone, they were around but for the rich folks. Soon this truck pulling a large horse trailer stop. 2 cowboys asked us if they could help us out. Tom told them he was not leaving his bike but yes we need to get to a phone. The 2 cowboys offered us a ride they would put the bike in the horse trailer they just need to move one horse up then the 3 guys lifted the bike into the horse trailer. They were some strong old cowboys. We did get a ride off that freeway.Took a ride but guess the 2 cowboys move horse up shut a gate and then of course, Tom said, "I will just ride back here with my bike". I was going to ride right by his side too. Tom sat on the bike, well I was not leaving his side so I laid in the nice soft hay. I stood up just to see where we were at for a moment and the looks this truck and horse trailer was getting from other cars passing by. You could see Tom from the window where you would normally see a horse. They could only see his head ,well Tom has long white hair, and a long white breaded, guy riding in this horse trailer. I laughed so hard as I laid back into the hay. We stop and the 2 cowboys came back, and told us we was at the hospital in St. George, Utah they had a friend with cancer to go visit. They wondered if we wanted to go visit too. The answer was no, "but thanks" , Tom said. When there visit was over they asked, where can we take you, as I was thinking gee we had no idea, but the 2 cowboys had a great idea there was a camp ground we could stay in unless we wanted to go to Idaho...no no Tom replied we will go to the camp ground. What are we going to do at this point ? I was thinking to myself. We got to the camp ground the 2 cowboys unloaded the bike as we thanked them for there help, and off they went. We sat up a small tent like a one man tent, no food no drinks, now what?? Well there was a phone, so Tom called his son collect but we had to wait 2 days for his son to come pick us up. A few hours passed, Tom went to the phone once again. He came back to the tent said. "look my friend Jim's sister lives here and her and her friend is going to come get us, so we can stay at there". Well we got to there place, oh we are going camping you can come along too. Some of her friends are going too. It's a camping party. So we go, I really not one to camp nor drinking. They made this huge can of jungle juice they called it, I tried some, darn that is GOOD! This maybe fun after all . All of these people made us feel very welcome as so did there friends. Soon Tom's son came to get us, but he came in a car, I wanted to laugh so hard but did not just smiled. We left the bike at Jim's sisters house, as we had to go back to get it in a truck. At least we are going home I thought to myself. We never did go to Henderson to see Tom's mom. Tom and his son look at the bike once we did get home. Tom soon turned to me and said. It's a good thing this bike quit running, the seat you was on , was not even bolted to the bike at all. Once and for all the beauty motorbike was home safe and sound. Everyone went to bed that night as I stayed up. I got that flyer out of my coat and started to read it . It was a prayer from God that he would look out for our safety. I got the chills and the hair on my arms stood up. There was a reason for that motorbike to break down, for no reason at all. I am so sure I would of never made it safe to Henderson, NV. Im so sure! We may of never made the ride safe. Were my seat was just sitting in mid air no bolts holding to the bike. GOD'S.... was with us that day. It's the most weirdest trip, but we got to meet some very good people along the way.
That bike never really ran right....ever again.....Tom got a new Harley another beauty!
I do believe things do happen for a reason.
