MATCHLESS LOVE
(Part 1)
It was a sunny afternoon, by the market square was a large crowd of people gathered together and making a hell of noise. Some were holding empty bottles, some sticks, some fuel, some tyres of vehicles. Many were shouting..."burn him! burn him!! burn him!!!". 'What is going on?' I asked myself. I decided to move closer to know exactly what the matter was. "Stupid boy! you keep going about robbing people within the community, you won't escape this time." I then perceived the young man had stolen and was caught. "Please don't burn him to death" I pleaded but to no avail, their mind was already made up. I had to use my affluence to get group of soldiers through a phone call who came and intervened quickly dispersing the large crowd who were almost setting the young man ablaze. He was almost dying as he bled profusely. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and given immediate treatment while being under the supervision of some police officers. When he was eventually recovered, he was taken to court and a five year jail term plus hard labour without fine was declared upon him. I felt pity for this boy and decided to have a small talk with him. I asked him about his background and he told me how it is that he's lost his parents from childhood and that he has nothing to live from. I was really disturbed that I couldn't rest. I had to plead with the Judge to allow me pay a fine for his release. After much deliberation, he agreed and I had to pay the sum of one hundred thousand naira for his release. After his release, I thought next of where he was going to stay. After some moments of contemplation, I decided I was going to accommodate him and work on him so he can be a better person.
