Morning Walk (Episode-2)
“What is change and how does it effects our lives?” Shuaib asked. We had our conversation a while ago as we were having tea at a beautiful evening. We haven’t had time to meet each other for a while as we were busy in our lives. Today we planned to meet on a riverside park in the morning where there is a riverbank for people to walk and enjoy the river flowing down. We were just continuing our conversation on different topic in alignment with life.
“Hmm… I think change is subjective. Like for every person it is different. We might be able to separate them into two broader categories. One can be External and the other can be Internal. Does it sound right to you?” I said. There was a little bit of sunlight everywhere on the river as you see the sun rising from the east.
“Yeah. It makes sense to me. I think external will refer to your environment, society and the world around us, and internal will refer to everything that happens in the vast universe that reside within us.” Shuaib said. It was like a beautiful scenery that needed to be captured. The sunlight was like the part of the river, and the light was also flowing down with the water.
“Do you think change sort of happens like suddenly or it happens gradually over time?” I asked. We stopped to capture the beauty of the nature, to soak the morning breeze, and to bath in the sunlight.
“It is a hard question and also a good one. Depends on the situation I guess but in my opinion it takes time to actually change. You know when we travel or move to a new place, we might be in a environment, society or culture that we haven’t experienced before. I think that can change us a lot as a person both externally and internally and that change comes from the sudden realization of something that we have never considered before.” Shuaib answered. “What do you think?”
“I agree. But people who don’t move or travel to new places can also experience change, and their change might come from their change of mind-set. As you said change comes from the sudden realization of something that we have never considered before. This can be defined as change of mind-set or change of perception. When we start to see the world from different perspective than our own we gradually start to change and align our values to that change.” I said. The sun was up and we could see the circle of hope.
“We do change constantly, don’t we? Sometimes we force ourselves to change, and we are forced to change.” Shuaib said after taking a deep breath.
“Pretty much. Everything does. When we evolve we change for the better, and when we degrade we change for the worse. Every moment can be a life changing moment depends on what you regard that moment as.” I said as we slowly turned and starting moving away from the gorgeous view, and towards to changing our lives.
